Kody Adkins Is Emerging As An Offensive Leader For Lincoln County Football

Sophomore Kody Adkins leads the Lincoln County Football team in rushing (31 ypg) and receiving (38 ypg) so far in 2025. He also competes in Track & Field, including events like the 100m (12.3), 200m (25.3), & Long Jump (15', 9"). Last season, he qualified for the Boys 4 x 200m relay team, and he helped them to a 9th Place finish at the State Championships. With that being said, it's fair to speculate about his future. Imagine during his senior year, he averages 100 yards rushing per game, 100 yards receiving per game, and becomes an elite sprinter approaching 10.9 or even 10.8 in the 100m dash. That would easily provide more offensive output in football, as well as make him a serious threat for a 100m State Title. This is fair to imagine when he has produced both rushing and receiving yards against three very good football teams in Winfield, Ripley, & Herbert Hoover. Currently, he is averaging 2.4 yards per rush against those 3, but as the schedule eases over the next 7 games, his average could move closer to 4.0 yards per rush. The impact will become evident as the season progresses. We have already scene signs of his speed in open space, which was evident in his 49 yard touchdown reception vs. Ripley.

As Homecoming approaches this Friday Night, look for Kody Adkins to have a breakout game at the perfect time. The Lincoln County Panthers will host Wayne, and it will be the lowest ranked team they faced yet this season. Wayne is currently ranked 60th in the State. Previously, the team played Winfield (#38) and Herbert Hoover (#11), which are two really good football teams. Therefore, Kody Adkins offensive production will likely increase in the weeks ahead.
