Lincoln County Travels To Nitro For The 1st Round Of The WV State Soccer Tournament

The Lincoln County Girls Soccer Team will travel to Nitro High School this Tuesday, Oct. 21st, in order to compete in the 1st Round of the WV State Soccer Tournament. The first thing you need to know is that previous records no longer apply. In fact, every team in the state starts from scratch in this single elimination tournament.

The Nitro Wildcats are led by Junior Goalkeeper Brooklyn Cawley, who averages over 4 saves per game and gives up just .718 goals per game. Consequently, she makes it very difficult for the opponents to score, and the Nitro defense does a great job of protecting her from taking shots on goal. On offense, the team is led by Senior Sophie Lawson, who has scored 12 Goals on the season. In addition, they have 9 players who have scored at least 4 goals this year.

On the other hand, The Lincoln County Panthers are led by a duo of Goalkeepers in Junior Chelsea Little (2.33 GAA) and Senior Anna Dial (2.25 GAA) throughout the season. Only Head Coach Sean O'Donoghue knows who will start in goal, as he has multiple options to consider and may likely make a game-time decision. On offense, the Panthers are led by Senior Kenzie Spence, Junior Calleigh Verdoni, and Senior Julea Wade, who have all scored at least six goals on the season.

Kickoff is at 6pm at Nitro High School. Come out and support your Lincoln County Panthers!!
