Elliot Austin wasted no time making a name for himself among the elite runners in the State of West Virginia. At Regionals, he continued his historic year, as he qualified for the WV State Cross Country Championships and moved up to 4th among Freshmen in Class AAA (See Below). In addition, he finished with a new personal record of 18:08 to finish in the Top 10.

Last season, Senior Ethan McNeely was one of the strongest distance runners in several years at Lincoln County High School. He competed in Soccer, Cross Country, and Track & Field. He left his mark in Soccer, as the team finished with the best winning percentage in school history, and he broke the school record in the 1600m run with a time of 5:17. At the time, it seemed like that record would stand for quite a while, but the Elliot Austin showed up. Already, he is 3 minutes ahead of McNeely's 5000m time, and if he chooses could potentially break the 1600m record as a freshmen. Only time will tell!! The current school records are Luke Roberts (2021) 17:21 in the 5,000m, Jonathan Miller (2014) 11:30 in the 3200m, Ethan McNeely (2025) 15:17 in the 1600m, & Dylan Smith (2018) 2:15 in the 800m..
